Air Fryer Flatbread Recipe

This easy and delicious flatbread recipe is perfect for quick meals or snacks. Using an air fryer, you’ll get a beautifully crispy outside with a soft and chewy inside. Serve it with your favorite dips, use it as a base for mini pizzas, or enjoy it plain.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self-rising flour (plus extra for kneading and rolling)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for brushing)
  • Salt (optional, for sprinkling)

Optional Toppings:

  • Garlic butter
  • Herbs (such as rosemary or thyme)
  • Cheese
  • Seeds (such as sesame or poppy seeds)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  • If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour, a tablespoon at a time, until it is manageable.
  1. Knead the Dough:
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.
  1. Shape the Flatbreads:
  • Roll each portion of dough into a ball, then flatten it with your hands or a rolling pin to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • If using, brush each flatbread with olive oil and sprinkle with salt or other desired toppings.
  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  1. Cook the Flatbreads:
  • Place one or two flatbreads (depending on the size of your air fryer basket) in the air fryer basket. Ensure they do not overlap.
  • Cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Repeat with the remaining flatbreads.
  1. Serve:
  • Remove the flatbreads from the air fryer and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dips, or use as a base for other recipes.

Tips:

  • For a garlic flavor, brush the flatbreads with melted garlic butter right after they come out of the air fryer.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them up again.

Enjoy your homemade air fryer flatbread!
