Broccoli and Cauliflower Bake

A delightful and healthy vegetable bake combining the rich flavors of broccoli and cauliflower, topped with a cheesy crust. Perfect as a side dish or a vegetarian main course.


  • 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)


  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli and cauliflower florets and blanch for 4-5 minutes until just tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the blanched broccoli and cauliflower with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Transfer the vegetables to a baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the grated Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs together. Sprinkle this mixture over the cheddar cheese.
  6. Drizzle the heavy cream evenly over the top of the dish.
  7. Pour the melted butter over the breadcrumb mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
