For the Meatloaf:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

For the Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the meatloaf mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Shape the meatloaf: Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard until smooth and well combined.
  5. Glaze the meatloaf: Spread half of the glaze mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake: Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Add remaining glaze: After 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining glaze over the top. Return it to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  8. Rest and serve: Once done, let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps it hold its shape and makes it easier to serve.
