Cheesy Tacos


These cheesy tacos are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that’s perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. Loaded with seasoned beef, melted cheese, and your favorite toppings, they are sure to be a hit with the whole family.


  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 small taco shells or tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • Hot sauce (optional)


  1. Prepare the Beef:
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is browned and no longer pink. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  1. Season the Beef:
  • Add the taco seasoning mix and water to the skillet with the cooked beef. Stir to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and the beef is well-coated with the seasoning.
  1. Assemble the Tacos:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the taco shells on a baking sheet and sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese inside each shell.
  • Spoon the seasoned beef mixture into the taco shells on top of the cheese.
  • Sprinkle another layer of shredded cheese on top of the beef.
  1. Melt the Cheese:
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  1. Add Toppings:
  • Remove the tacos from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream, and a spoonful of salsa.
  • If desired, add chopped cilantro, sliced black olives, and a dash of hot sauce.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve the cheesy tacos immediately, while they are still warm.
