Crispy and delicious, these chicken taquitos are perfect for a quick snack or a satisfying meal. Made with seasoned chicken, cheese, and tortillas, they are sure to be a hit with the whole family.

  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 10 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Cooking oil (for frying or baking)
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, salsa, chopped cilantro

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking the taquitos.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheese, salsa, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Warm the tortillas in the microwave for about 20 seconds to make them pliable.
  4. Place about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture in the center of each tortilla. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  5. For frying: Heat about 1/2 inch of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the taquitos seam-side down in the oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. For baking: Place the rolled taquitos on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly brush or spray them with cooking oil. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings such as sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and chopped cilantro. Enjoy!
