Chinese Pepper Steak Stir-Fry Recipe

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), thinly sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
