Instructions:

  1. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and place it in a large pot of boiling water. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the leaves are softened. Remove from water and let cool slightly.
  2. While the cabbage is cooling, prepare the filling.   5. Cover the skillet or dish with a lid or foil and cook over medium heat for 20-25 minutes, or until the cabbage rolls are cooked through and tender.
  6. If desired, thicken the sauce by mixing the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the cooking liquid and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
