  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Cadbury)
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 200g Cadbury milk chocolate, melted and cooled

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Add Boiling Water:
    • Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay.
  6. Add Melted Cadbury Chocolate:
    • Fold in the melted Cadbury milk chocolate into the batter until well incorporated.
  7. Bake the Cake:
    • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool the Cakes:
    • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Frost and Serve:
    • Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting or ganache, and decorate as desired. Slice and serve.
