These classic BBQ ribs are tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. Perfect for a summer cookout or a family dinner, they are sure to be a hit!

  • 2 racks of pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  1. Prepare the Ribs:
  • Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs. Use a knife to lift the edge, then grab it with a paper towel and pull it off.
  • Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  1. Make the Dry Rub:
  • In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  • Rub this mixture all over both sides of the ribs. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  1. Prepare the Grill:
  • Preheat your grill to 225°F (110°C) for indirect grilling. If using a charcoal grill, arrange the coals on one side of the grill. If using a gas grill, turn off one or two burners to create a cooler zone.
  1. Cook the Ribs:
  • Remove the ribs from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature.
  • Place the ribs on the grill, bone-side down, over indirect heat. Close the lid and cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, maintaining a temperature of 225°F (110°C).
  1. Prepare the BBQ Sauce:
  • While the ribs are cooking, combine the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through.
  1. Baste the Ribs:
  • After 2.5 to 3 hours, brush the ribs with the BBQ sauce. Close the lid and cook for another 30 minutes to 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes, until the ribs are tender and the internal temperature reaches 190°F (88°C).
  1. Finish and Serve:
  • Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes before cutting.
  • Cut the ribs between the bones, serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side, and enjoy!

These classic BBQ ribs are perfect for any occasion and will surely be a crowd-pleaser. Enjoy your delicious, smoky ribs!
