Crispy Chicken Schnitzel Recipe

Indulge in the delightful crunch of golden-brown chicken schnitzel with this easy recipe.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

  1. Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap. Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to pound the chicken until it’s about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Set up a breading station: Place flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs seasoned with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using) in a third dish.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast first in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat it thoroughly in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180°C).
  5. Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil, cooking 2 at a time to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove the schnitzels from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with the remaining chicken breasts.
  7. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the schnitzels. Enjoy your crispy chicken schnitzel!
