This classic custard pie features a smooth and creamy filling in a flaky pie crust, perfect for any occasion. Simple yet delicious, it’s a family favorite that is sure to please!

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups whole milk
  • Ground nutmeg (optional, for garnish)

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Pie Crust: Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. If you prefer, you can pre-bake the crust for 10 minutes to ensure it’s crispy (optional).
  3. Make the Custard Filling:
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually stir in the milk, mixing until smooth.
  1. Fill the Pie Crust: Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust. If desired, sprinkle a little ground nutmeg on top for extra flavor.
  2. Bake: Carefully transfer the pie to the preheated oven. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center. A knife inserted near the center should come out clean.
  3. Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack. The custard will continue to set as it cools.
  4. Serve: Once cooled, slice and serve. The pie can be enjoyed warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
  5. Store: Store any leftovers in the refrigerator. The custard pie will keep for up to 3 days.

Enjoy your delicious custard pie!
