Dark Chocolate Brownie Recipe

A decadent treat for chocolate lovers, these dark chocolate brownies are rich, moist, and utterly irresistible.

  • 200g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 100g chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together using a double boiler or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir until smooth and glossy.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. If using, gently fold in the chopped nuts until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs clinging to it.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  10. Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan. Cut into squares and serve.

Enjoy your indulgent dark chocolate brownies!
