  • For the Bowl:
  • 1 lb ground pork (or ground chicken/turkey for a leaner option)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated (or 1 tsp ground ginger)
  • 1/2 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 large carrots, shredded
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For Garnish:
  • Sesame seeds
  • Additional chopped green onions
  • Cilantro (optional)
  • Lime wedges (optional)


  1. Cook the Meat:
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Once the pork is nearly cooked through, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic and ginger are fragrant.

  • Add the sliced cabbage, shredded carrots, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine with the meat mixture.
  • Pour in the soy sauce and rice vinegar. Stir again to ensure all ingredients are well mixed.
