Fudgy Oreo Brownies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter
  • 1 and 1/4 cups (250g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) packed light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups (about 192g) roughly chopped Oreo cookies (about 12-14 cookies)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat once melted.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined and smooth.
  4. Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet ingredients mixture. Gently fold until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the chopped Oreo cookies, reserving a handful for topping if desired.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. If reserved, sprinkle the remaining chopped Oreos over the top of the batter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs clinging to it. Be careful not to overbake, as you want the brownies to remain fudgy.
  8. Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan set on a wire rack.
