Greek Chicken Meatballs Recipe

These Greek chicken meatballs are flavorful, juicy, and perfect for a healthy meal. Infused with Mediterranean spices and herbs, they can be served with a side of tzatziki, in a pita, or over a Greek salad.


  • For the Meatballs:
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free if needed)
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried mint
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
  • For the Tzatziki Sauce (optional):
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Prepare the Meatball Mixture:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, crumbled feta, beaten egg, oregano, dried mint, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  1. Shape the Meatballs:
  • Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get approximately 18-20 meatballs.
  1. Cook the Meatballs:
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the cooked meatballs to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  1. Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce (optional):
  • In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, fresh dill, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are blended. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve the Greek chicken meatballs warm with a side of tzatziki sauce. They can also be served in pita bread with fresh vegetables, or over a bed of rice or Greek salad.
