Fat Burger Grilled Cheese

  • For the Burger Patties:
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • For the Grilled Cheese:
  • 8 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough, white, or whole wheat)
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • 8 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices of American cheese
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Pickles
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Mayo


  1. Prepare the Burger Patties:
  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Form the beef mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  • Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Set aside.

  • Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
