Irresistible Chocolate Rolls Recipe

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth.
  7. Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle, about 12×18 inches.
