Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls Recipe

Combine the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak with the crispy goodness of egg rolls for a delicious and unique appetizer or snack. These Philly cheesesteak egg rolls are filled with savory beef, melted cheese, and sautéed veggies, all wrapped up in a crispy shell.

  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 10-12 egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)
  • Dipping sauce (optional: ranch, cheese sauce, etc.)

  1. Prepare the filling:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
    • In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms (if using). Sauté until they are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Return the cooked steak to the skillet and add Worcestershire sauce. Mix well to combine all the ingredients, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. Assemble the egg rolls:
    • Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing toward you (diamond shape).
    • Spoon a generous amount of the cheesesteak filling onto the center of the wrapper.
    • Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese over the filling.
    • Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides. Roll tightly, sealing the top corner with a bit of water to secure the egg roll. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Fry the egg rolls:
    • Heat oil in a deep skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    • Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
    • Remove the egg rolls with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or cheese sauce. Enjoy!

These egg rolls are perfect for parties, game day, or whenever you’re craving a tasty twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak!
