Pudding Without Oven Recipe

  • 1 liter (4 cups) of milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Optional toppings: fresh fruit, whipped cream, chocolate shavings

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
  • In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Mix well to ensure there are no lumps.
  1. Heat the Milk:
  • Pour the milk into a large saucepan and heat over medium heat until it starts to steam, but not boil.
  1. Combine Ingredients:
  • Gradually whisk the dry mixture into the hot milk, making sure to stir constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken. This will take about 10-15 minutes.
  1. Add Flavor:
  • Once the mixture has thickened and starts to bubble, reduce the heat to low and cook for an additional 2 minutes while stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and butter until fully incorporated.
  1. Cool the Pudding:
  • Pour the pudding into a large bowl or individual serving dishes. To prevent a skin from forming on top, place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the pudding. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
  1. Chill:
  • Once the pudding has cooled, refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or until fully set.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve the pudding chilled, topped with your favorite toppings such as fresh fruit, whipped cream, or chocolate shavings.

Enjoy your homemade pudding without the need for an oven!
