Ritz Cracker Salted Caramel Recipe

A delightful treat combining the buttery crunch of Ritz crackers with the rich, sweet flavor of salted caramel, perfect for snacking or dessert.

  • 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, plus extra for sprinkling

  1. Prepare the Baking Sheet:
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Ritz crackers in a single layer. Set aside.
  2. Make the Caramel:
    • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
    • Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil without stirring. Allow it to boil until it turns a deep amber color, about 8-10 minutes. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  3. Add Cream and Butter:
    • Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully add the heavy cream. The mixture will bubble vigorously.
    • Add the butter pieces and stir until completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  4. Add Sea Salt:
    • Stir in the teaspoon of sea salt until well combined.
  5. Drizzle Caramel over Crackers:
    • Using a spoon, drizzle the salted caramel over the Ritz crackers. Make sure each cracker is well coated.
  6. Cool and Set:
    • Allow the caramel-coated crackers to cool on the baking sheet until the caramel is set, about 15-20 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle Extra Salt:
    • For an extra touch, sprinkle a small amount of sea salt over the caramel before it sets completely.
  8. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Once the caramel is set, transfer the crackers to a serving plate and enjoy!

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • For a chocolate twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the caramel before it sets.
