Indulge in the perfect blend of creamy cheese, crispy bacon, and spicy jalapeños with this irresistible jalapeño popper recipe. These bite-sized appetizers are sure to be a hit at your next gathering!

  • 12 large jalapeño peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Cooking spray

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Slice the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. Use caution when handling the jalapeños, as the seeds and membranes contain capsaicin, which can irritate the skin and eyes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese mixture, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
  5. In one shallow bowl, place the beaten eggs. In another shallow bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
  6. Dip each stuffed jalapeño half into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s coated evenly. Then, coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  7. Place the breaded jalapeño poppers on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Lightly spray the jalapeño poppers with cooking spray. This helps them brown and crisp up in the oven.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy these spicy jalapeño poppers as a delightful appetizer or snack!

Note: For an extra kick of heat, you can leave some of the jalapeño seeds in the cream cheese mixture. Adjust the amount of jalapeño to your desired spice level.
