Stuffed Bread with Potato Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 6-8 slices of bread
  • Butter for toasting

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds, and let them splutter.
  2. Add the finely chopped onions and green chilies to the pan. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  3. Add the turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, and salt to the pan. Stir well to combine the spices.
  4. Add the boiled and mashed potatoes to the pan. Mix thoroughly to ensure the potatoes are well-coated with the spices.
  5. Cook the potato mixture for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. Add chopped fresh coriander leaves and mix well. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  6. Take a slice of bread and place a generous amount of the potato mixture on one side. Spread it evenly, leaving a small border around the edges.
  7. Place another slice of bread on top, pressing gently to seal the edges. Repeat with the remaining bread slices and potato mixture.
  8. Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Spread a little butter on both sides of each stuffed bread sandwich.
  9. Toast the sandwiches on the griddle until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  10. Remove from the griddle and let them cool slightly before cutting into halves or quarters. Serve the stuffed bread with potato hot, accompanied by your favorite chutney or sauce. Enjoy!
