Stuffed Cheese Shells Recipe

Indulge in these delicious stuffed cheese shells, a perfect blend of creamy ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, all nestled in tender pasta shells and baked to perfection with marinara sauce. This comforting dish is ideal for a cozy family dinner or a potluck gathering.


  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Extra shredded mozzarella and Parmesan for topping (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, chopped parsley, garlic powder, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
  4. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese mixture and arrange them in the baking dish on top of the marinara sauce.
  6. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle additional mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top if desired, and bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with extra chopped parsley before serving, if desired.
