Stuffed Pasta Shells Recipe

Delicious and cheesy stuffed pasta shells filled with a savory mixture of ricotta, mozzarella, and spinach, baked in a rich marinara sauce. Perfect for a comforting family dinner.


  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped (or 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped spinach, garlic powder, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Fill each cooked pasta shell with the cheese and spinach mixture and place them in the baking dish on top of the marinara sauce.
  6. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells, ensuring they are well covered.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese over the top.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
